Progression Testing

Blue, Bronze & Silver Level Testing

Testing is required for gymnasts currently enrolled in Blue, Bronze, and Silver classes. This evaluation helps our coaches determine whether each athlete is ready to safely and successfully advance to the next level.

What Parents Should Know

Our testing process is designed to support safe, steady progress. Advancement is based on skill readiness, consistency, and proper technique.

ALL gymnasts currently registered in a Blue, Bronze, or Silver class must register and attend a testing session to be evaluated to advance to the next level.
🤸

Who Tests

Gymnasts enrolled in Blue, Bronze, and Silver classes are required to participate in a testing session in order to be considered for advancement.

Why We Test

Testing allows our coaches to evaluate whether a gymnast has the strength, control, and consistency needed for the next level.

🛡️

Safety First

Higher-level skills require physical readiness. Testing helps make sure gymnasts move up only when they are prepared to do so safely.

Progress With Confidence

Our goal is to place every gymnast where they can be successful, challenged, and confident as they continue to grow.

How Advancement Works

To be considered for advancement, gymnasts must demonstrate strong skill completion across all evaluated categories. In order to pass testing, a gymnast must achieve at least 80% of the required skills in each category.

This helps ensure that each gymnast is physically ready for the next level and can safely begin working on more advanced skills with confidence and consistency.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some common questions families have about Blue, Bronze, and Silver testing.

Does registering for testing guarantee my gymnast will move up?

No. Registering for testing gives your gymnast the opportunity to be evaluated, but advancement depends on meeting the required skill threshold and demonstrating readiness in each category.

What is required to pass testing?

Gymnasts must achieve at least 80% of the required skills in each category in order to pass and be considered for advancement.

Why can’t gymnasts move up based only on age or time in class?

Each level introduces more advanced skills that require strength, coordination, and body control. Testing helps ensure gymnasts are physically prepared before moving on.

What happens if my gymnast does not pass testing?

That simply means more time is needed in the current level. This is a normal part of gymnastics progression and often leads to stronger long-term success.

How will I know the results?

MAG will communicate placement updates after testing has been completed and evaluations have been finalized by the coaching staff.
