Tumbling classes focus on floor skills used in gymnastics, cheerleading, dance and other athletic activities. Students work through progressive drills designed to improve technique, strength, flexibility and body awareness.

Each student is encouraged to grow at an appropriate pace while developing the confidence and control needed to take on new skills.

👕 Tumbling Attire

Students should wear comfortable, fitted athletic clothing that allows coaches to see proper body alignment.

  • A leotard or fitted athletic clothing

  • Long hair secured away from the face
  • No jewelry, belts, denim or loose clothing
  • Avoid clothing with zippers or metal pieces

Frequently Asked Questions

Does my child need previous tumbling experience?
Students may work on skills appropriate to their experience and current ability. Coaches use progressive drills to help students develop safely and confidently.
What is the difference between tumbling and gymnastics?
Tumbling focuses primarily on floor skills such as rolls, handstands, cartwheels, roundoffs, walkovers and handspring progressions. Traditional gymnastics classes also include apparatus such as bars, beam and vault.
Is tumbling helpful for cheerleaders and dancers?
Yes. Tumbling can help cheerleaders and dancers improve strength, flexibility, body control and floor skills. Students do not need to participate in cheerleading or dance to enroll.
Can boys enroll in Tumbling?
Yes. Tumbling is open to students who meet the age requirements listed for each available class.
What happens if my child has different skills than other students?
Coaches use stations, drills and progressions to help students work on skills appropriate to their current development. Students may be working toward different goals within the same class.
