SUMMER CAMP - GYM AND SWIM PROGRAM

Camp Program

(For children 5 & older)
Come join the fun at the Michigan Academy of Gymnastics Summer Day Camp.  You can practice your gymnastics skills in the morning, & do a fun activity such as a filed trip to the pool in the afternoon.    Students are transported by our Camp Chauffer in our M.A.G. van.  Our coaching staff has put together a host of activities with variety from week to week.  If it rains we find fun indoor activities like bowling, movies, or soccer.  Each week is different so it's never, ever, the same camp twice. Gymnastics experience is NOT required.

Daily Schedule
FULL DAYS:        9:00 A.M.  - 4:00 P.M.
HALF DAYS:       9:00 A.M.  - 12:00 P.M. OR  12:30 P.M. - 4:00 P.M.

Rush hour supervision available, for an additional fee of $4.00 per hour paid in advance.

  • 2 hours of supervised gymnastics instruction

  • Lunch (bring your own brown bag and drink, we have a refrigerator)

  • 1 to 2 hours of games/crafts

  • Swimming at Westland community pool/ bowling, rollerskating/ putt put are some of the fun activities.

  • Free pizza lunch to all campers on Friday's

  • M.A.G. Camp T-shirt for Full Day/ Full Week registration.

MAG offers several options to students and parents.   You may sign up for gymnastics & crafts in the morning or just come in for field trips or swimming in the afternoon, the choice is up to you.  Each week has different events scheduled.  Activities include: Swimming, Volleyball, Movies, Bowling, Putt – Putt Golf, Hiking at Maybury State Park and other fun.

 

Facility

Camp will be held in our 22,000 sq. ft. facility, which features 3 vaults, 5 sets of uneven bars, 5 single bars, 2 sets of parallel bars, 12 balance beams, 2 - 42 x 42 ft. spring floors, in ground resilite pits, in ground trampoline, 3 men’s high bars, 3 sets of rings, several pommel horses, pro-shop, a Dance Studio and more!

Staff

  • Douglas Rowe, Program Director, has guided the Michigan Academy programs for over 25 years.

  • All staff receives training from within M.A.G. and its Program Directors. The staff receives PDP (Professional Developmental Program) Level I certification, Levels I - IV Certification and Safety Certification from U.S.A. Gymnastics, Adult CPR and First Aid.

Enrollment

Fees must accompany the registration form to insure placement in the camp.  Registrations will be accepted by mail or may be dropped off in our office. Registrations must be received 7 days prior to the week you wish to attend.

REGISTRATIONS CANNOT BE TAKEN OVER THE PHONE!

Drop Ins will NOT BE ACCEPTED!  Staffing is set to the number of registrations received for the week.
No refunds will be given unless the session is canceled!

Minimum of 5 children required to run per week.

DISCOUNT FEE for second child is 10%
*RUSH HOUR SUPERVISION:   8 - 9 a.m. & 4 - 5 p.m.    @  $4.00 / hr.  Must sign up prior.

AGES: This camp is designed for any students 5 - 16 years of age.  No gymnastics experience is necessary.
