General Information

Michigan Academy of Gymnastics preschool program offers children an opportunity to learn gymnastic skills in a fun, safe, and structured environment. While participating in gymnastics classes, your child will be improving their cognitive, emotional, and gross and fine motor skills. It is our goal to help improve social skills; such as listening and following directions, turn-taking, and participating in group activities, to prepare them for the educational setting, MAG’s preschool classes are held in a separate area of the gym filled with colorful child-sized equipment. The curriculum is taught through themed lesson plans to engage the students.

Preschool Classes

One coach leads while parents interact with their child to learn the basics of the gymnastics apparatus; bars, beam, floor, rings, and trampoline. The goal of this class is to develop gross motor skills, social skills, and listening skills, all while having fun. Children do not need to be fully potty trained to participate in this class. If you have multiple kids enrolled in the class, you will need to have one adult for every child. Due to space issues, evening classes can only allow the parent and the student in the class, visitors can observe the class from the waiting area.

These classes begin preparing the child, both physically and mentally, for higher level skills. It is recommended that students at this level register for two classes a week.
